A,7 = soft 18. Looks strong, but vs a strong dealer (9, 10, A) it is weaker than you think.
Soft 18 is the trickiest hand in the chapter: you stand, hit, or double depending on the dealer.
Double/Stand — vs 2 doubling is marginally better (Ds).
Hit — the dealer often makes 19, you need to try to improve.
Stand — 18 beats the dealer's 17, and the dealer makes 17 often with 7.
