Lesson 6 · Card Counting

Playing Deviations

Basic strategy is the best play at a neutral count, but at extreme counts a handful of plays flip. The Illustrious 18 and the Fab 4 surrenders are the indices that pay for the effort.

Each deviation has an index: when the true count crosses it, the play changes. Assumes 6 decks, S17, DAS, late surrender. Insurance at TC +3 is the most valuable index of all.
